    68 Block Stamping Question

I've got a 68 Block with casting # 3935439 that was cast on March 26, 1968. The engine was built April 29th (T0429IR). On the front edge of the stamp pad it has been stamped "0247-8". It appears to be in the format of a Julian date but have no idea what it means as it doesn't correspond to any other dates on the block. Anyone have an idea what "0247-8" is? Photo attached. All other 68 blocks I've looked at didn't have a number stamped on the front edge.

    Thanks

    Mark

Possibility that it was rebuilt at some point in history and the rebuilder stamped these numbers??????
