As is often the case with shock absorbers and unfortunately, GM #5554959 was never a SERVICE part number. That does not mean that it was never available in SERVICE, it just means it was never available in SERVICE under that part number. On-shock part numbers are often different than the SERVICE part number that appears only on the box. So, without the box and the part number thereon, I can't identify these shocks.

Even with the part number on the box it can sometimes be difficult. That's because some of these shock part numbers were Delco parts system-only parts. That makes identification difficult since there were a plethora of, basically, aftermarket-only type shocks manufactured by Delco Products and sold in the Delco parts system.

Most important, though, is the fact that virtually all of the shock part numbers are Delco Products-assigned part numbers. This means that the shocks could be for ANY GM application or, even, non-GM applications like Ford or Chrysler. That expands the "universe of possible applications" considerably.
