Like Stu said, there are some C1 folks who bought theirs new, but I don't know how many of them hang out on the board.

1970, trim tag Jan 29, 1970, purchased Feb 29, 1970 -- yes, it was a leap year. She asked me out, and I still have her.

You should divide this into C-1's, C-2's and C-3's. There are still some old farts out there with some C-1's - that is if this a game open to all. As for me, I had my first Corvette Engine long before my first car (1956; 225hp - dropped it in my 50 Coupe to replace my 55 V8 that I put in late 1955). Then I got a practically new 1958; 290hp Fuelie to replace the 56. My first complete car didn't come until my new 63.

65 conv. GG standard blk interior bought it in 76 for $2000.00 still have it. In the process of restoring it for the 3rd time 69,000 org miles Sat in a dirty dusty leaky garage more then I drove it, not driving it caused more damage than if i drove it.

I forgot to say I turned down in 1971, a 1966 Marroon black int. conv. BB with Alum heads, soft top only, and headers and yellow spark plug wires. He wanted a 1000.00 I opted for the red coupe with A/C. Dale

White 1959 290/283 purchased new by my dad May 1, 1959 from Doane Chevrolet in Dundee. IL. I was 12. We're both William, so I have the original bill of sale in "my" name. Comin' up on 50 years...

I guess I'm wondering where the "Thought Police" are; those "Guardians of the Technical Discussion pages"; oh, I see they only work when someone is trying to comment negatively about the powers-that-be, ala the NCRS "Your're Wonderful Award" to Kerbeck in 2003 because "You gave us $$$$" and we didn't mind that your "Motorama" car sat on display with a Chevrolet V8 installed in it.

Hey Loren, we're entitled to a little fun once in a while. This is a neat request. Another reason why the TDB should stay as it is. Sorry I won't be at B-J in Scottsdale with Dana this year. Would have been interesting to see GM sell off part of its heritage collection although its extremely sad to see them go outside the Corporation.

I did ask for some tech. info, specs, options, etc. That should count for something as original and early owners are a great resource of info.
