Stale Fuel

My 60 has been sitting a while and now runs a little rough. I suspect old/stale fuel. Will an octane booster help in using up this fuel, or should I just try to syphon out what is left in the tank?

Octane booster (even the real stuff) will not help old stale fuel. In theory it would make the problem worse. Add new fuel on top of the old and off you go.

If you want the best over the counter fuel treatment bar none, then run you a can of Berrymans in it.
It has the absolute best solvents to clean with. put it in with some fresh gas.

I would just siphon it out and replace with new. Burn the old gas in your lawnmower or daily driver (assuming it is unleaded). Just mix the old with some fresh gas to help it burn.

DISCLAIMER: If it siphons out and looks like 30 wt used motor oil, I would find another use for it.

Nothing replaces fresh gas. It has been my experience that I should have drained everything and started from scratch. As mentioned, additives often reduce the volitility of gasoline rather than enhance it.
