Re: Need help identifying 1969 Ignition shielding brackets.
Those are small block brackets, and since they have a single weld nut they are for the later 1970 and up single-piece ignition shielding. They will not work for any properly equipped 1969.Terry- Top

Re: Need help identifying 1969 Ignition shielding brackets.
No John,
For the 1969 box-type distributor shielding the supports should each have two weld nuts on them. There is a good drawing that shows that in the TIM&JG. The box type shielding (two piece style for 1969) uses a total of four wing bolts to attach it to the supports -- thus the total of four weld nuts.
BB supports will also have a stud welded to the inside (same side as the weld nuts) to attach the wire shielding to ground.
SB, of course, don't have that stud. There are also shape differences between the BB and SB supports, but I don't have the words to describe them. Even my Irish heritage doesn't work for that, even earlier in the day.Terry- Top

Boy that makes it tough. I didn't see any pictures in the 68-69 TIM & JG, but they do referance the (2) weld nuts.
I imagine these are tough to find as they're not reproduced.
Even harder to find when your not positive what your looking for.- Top

Re: Need help identifying 1969 Ignition shielding brackets.
Sorry John. They took the ignition shielding drawing out of the last 1968-69 TIM&JG revision. It is still in the 1970-72 TIM&JG. My mistake. I kind of liked that drawing, but I wasn't aware they took it out of the new edition.Terry- Top
