I am disassembling a 1961 frame/chassis today. The car was a plain-jane, low option project car with nothing original on it. I can tell it has been raced due to some old roll bar reminents, a rear crossmember which has been filled with lead, and 1/4" pieces of "cut-to-fit" metal plates which were spot welded in both front and rear sides of the frames X member. I'm guessing for extra strength. After removing these metal plates, I noticed what appears to be original but aged frame paint with between 1 and three baby blue, vertical lines. These paint lines are in the back two X pieces with the paint lines on both sides.
I havn't seen or read anything about these lines but do any of you know anything about them? If I could post a picture I would but I don't know how. JB
