    Identify this 57 Corvette part.

I found 2 parts like this in a box of 57 Corvette items I purchased a while back.
Can someone tell me what they are and where the go on the car?
The part is 1/4 inch thick steel, has two 1/4-20 X 1" WB 1C bolts and is stamped with a logo as shown in the picture.
Please also tell me about the logo if you can.
    Thanks.

Bruce, They are nut plates for holding the rear bumper brackets to the frame crossmember. These are the two "s" brackets that go through the body & connect to the rear bumper horizontal reinforcement. And yes they were stamped "AMC" We always thought that the General outsourced some simple parts, Maybe to American Motors.
Look in the AIM at rear bumper mounting.

Agree on the part. On all the 54's I've seen up close the bolts have an "R" headmark.
