Question about C1 engine casting

A member of my club has a question and I'm not skilled on C1s Any information would be appreciated:

I have questions about a 56 corvette I have come across. An old man has it and wants to sell. I have checked numbers as best I can. I don't think it has the right engine in it. It seems to be a 55 265. casting # 3703524. But I don't understand the engine ID #? It ends in I or T then 55F.Can anyone tell what this is? It looks like (very dirty) 0I90924 I55F note: (1 or I or T 55F)

Jack, '56 engine casting number ends in 991, so this is not the original engine. The 3703524 traces to a '55 block in passenger car. The T would indicate cast in Tonawanda, NY where the passenger car blocks were cast. The F would indicate a 2 barrel, power glide car. If it were a real '56 corvette block it would look like this:
