You can use a 15" VAC. I've listed the part numbers a zillion times when this discussion comes up, but my fingers are getting tired.

Robert,

Sounds like your on the right track with the distributor, I think your car will run much better when you finish. Just remember not to exceed total advance (inital plus centrifugal), vacuum advance is in addition to this..

Thanks for all the help. Car is running fine except maybe idle could be smoother (I have nothing to base a smooth idle for a big block). The new vac advance works well timing is correct, etc... I was able to review other posts and found a lot of Duke's archives) very informative and I have learned a lot.
