Hello all,
I recovered a "Group 24" battery from a 18,000 mile, 1992 Honda Accord, and would like to know if I can use this as a spare, or if I should return it to WalMart and collect my $9.00 recycling deposit.
The battery is a "calcium/lead-acid" sealed type.
It was put "in-service" in January, 2002.
The Honda has not been used since March, 2003.
Battery tested "stone dead" at zero volts, yesterday morning.
It has been on 10.0 amp charge since yesterday morning, BUT WILL NOT DRAW MORE THAN 1.0 AMP CHARGE RATE AT ANY TIME, MOST TIMES DRAWS LESS THAN .5 AMP.
Is this battery too badly sulfated from it's extended state of discharge to be made usable?
Thanks in advance.
Joe
