    Steering Bearing Clamp C2

When I replace the steering shaft/jacket on my 64, is the lower bearing spring stop clamp orientation with the bolt on the inboard side or visa-versa. I noticed the 63 shop manual shows it I/B and the 64 AIM shows it O/B on pg.171 sect 9-4.00. I looked at some old pics from shows and most appear I/B.

    Jim -

Functionally, it makes no difference, and there was no mandatory position required by Engineering; I'd expect to see it in any position.

      John,

Thanks for the info. Mine was actually rotated around to the top sideways facing out. I guess it made for easier access under the PB Booster. Just wanted to keep the judges happy.
