    CC N11 Off Road Exhaust

    Hi,
I know this topic has been discussed ad nauseum over the past 12 months or so. I know Corvette Central is now selling the Waldron made N11 Off Road exhaust system for the 65-67 cars. I wanted to know if anyone has purchased and installed this system on a car. If so would you mind providing your feedback?

    Thanks,
    Chuck

I'm interested in feedback also. I am most interested in the "original sound".
I've seen the video but it's difficult to tell if the sound is the same as original GM.

The GM off road system on my 66 is now over 25 years old/30,000+ miles and I think it's time to look into replacement system.

Sander van Ballegooij has the system on this split - hopefully he will chime in as well.

Running the two systems side-by-side, they sound the same and the dB level is the same. Talking to him not long ago, Corvette Central was also working on modifying their pipes to more accurately resemble the originals.

Thanks Patrick. That's exactly what I was hoping to hear.

Michael, spoke with Tom and Eric Gardner and they are putting final touches on a N11 correctly bent set also. Their's will have a separate muffler which will facilitate alignment then can be seal weld like originals.

Thanks Dan. I suppose it's difficult, even with the original print, to get all the bends exactly right on the reproduction so they fit properly.

Were they able to duplicate the "oval shape" on the pipes?

Michael, they said the 'flatness' and bends were 'real close' to original pipes they are copying. Give them a call for I haven't seen them in the flesh yet. They have a good websight with comparisons of originals etc.

Sounds like they did their homework on these.

Actually, I'm still curious as to why someone didn't try to contact the original vendor/supplier on off road systems years ago. I always wondered if they still had prints and the ability/equipment to make these assemblies again.

Out of curiousity, who was the original supplier?

Thanks Patrick for the input. I am curious if others have had the same experience. What was CC going to modify on their pipes?

Was told there was a 'W' on the muffler for Walker.

I have some pic's of NOS originals here somewhere. I'll see if I can fine them. I don't remember a W but that doesn't mean there wasn't one.
I only remember the debossed part number and date.

What a timely discussion. I'm at the Florida Regional and brought a set of NOS N11 exhausts to sell. If I can help with any questions before their sold let me know. I have a new camera with me but havn't used it yet. So if anyone on this discussion board is at the meet and needs to see the exhausts,or photograph them, you can reach me at the Registration tent or the Vendor Registration tent. Ask for Skip, the Events Security Chairman, thats me.I've been here since Sunday and am not leaving until the event is over.

                            Hi Michael
Gardners mufflers from what I am told is made from the same design as the original N11 off road mufflers. The only thing it doesn't have is the embossed W due to copy right laws. Apparently they sound the same as the originals as I assume that is why Corvette Central is trying to make them the same.
Eric dissected a set of original off road mufflers and made them the same. I sent my 68 only front pipes for him to duplicate and I also sent him 69 427 auto and 4sp front and mid section pipes to duplicate and he will have them ready for sale too. Here is a pic of the 69 front pipes he made in the last week.
His 68 B/B 4 sp and auto system is ready for sale next week. Any one interested give Eric an email.
