    67 starter, code date question

Well, one of the final parts from my 67 rebuild has been degreased and cleaned. And it appears to be the original starter for the car. So that's good news. (see picture)

My question is, what does the 4 A stand for? The TIM/JG doesn't mention anything about it. Does it simply mean four amps?

The date code is "6E27" which translates to May 27, 1966. I have the same starter on my car and it also has the 4A but I am not sure what it represents.
