    Exhaust packing 'donut' part number

Can anyone help with the GM part number for 2" exhaust packing seal/donut? I think the current ones are sintered metal instead of the crushable asbestos type & it is likely one of those newer 8-digit part numbers. Or, can a suitable replacement be obtained at FLAPS? Thanks.

    Jeff,
The part number for the 2" sintered donut is 3731062.
It is also available in 2 1/2" as part number 3767556.

It depends what you want. The sintered metal donut packings never replaced the "soft" type. Both types are still available. The 2" "soft" packings are GM #6271611. The 2" sintered packings are GM #3731062.

If you are ordering it from GM it comes in a 5 pack? Go figure!

You can also purchae this in aftermarket and the composite is dead on. p/n 85000 and it should be around 1.50 per packing, packaged in a single unit.

How would I use that 85000 aftermarket part number? That is, who uses that numbering convention? (NAPA, Auto Zone, Standard ...) Thanks.

I think that's the Willcox part number.

The number "85000" was an old after market part number, it crossed to a Felpro 8194. Rol Manufacturing took over the small gaskets from Felpro and the current part number is a EG24017. You should be able to purchase this anywhere.

I just checked the box of the ones that I installed on my car - they are the 6271611 - which was already mentioned above.
