Midyear Underbody Fiberglass

I'm just finishing up my body off on a 64 coupe and need to detail the underbody fiberglass . Is it all raw fiberglass or is any part painted black besides the wheel wells ? Thanks

Just the wheel wells and the outward facing under body fiberglass in the rear wheel wells received the black out paint.

i thought that the wheel wells were coated with a black sound deadening spray.

Both are true! Wheel wells were blacked out (probably a marketing cosmetic issue--don't draw your eyes away from the car's sleek exterior lines) AND they were shot with undercoating (thwart the tires from thowing gravel that could 'bulls eye' the exterior paint on the outer fender)...

Noland Adam's midyear book has a couple of nice shots of the underside of the body showing the raw fiberglass. In the book, you can also see grinder marks on the holes where the floorpan drain plugs are installed.
