Rear goes "clunk" went getting into 2nd

Am I looking at a rear-end rebuild (bad pinion, ring gear....?) when, if shifted into 2nd with anything other than a feather on the throttle, their is a good "clunk" sound ? I pray it's not the tranny. It does seem as though if it were the rear end that it would happen in all shifts though....

    Thanks,
    Mark

It sounds like an easy fix with the rubber bushings that are locating the front lower part of the differential snubber. There is an upper and lower rubber bushing that fit together with the lower differential support between them. A bolt runs between them and holds them together. A dealer should have them on their shelf. Good hunting. Paul
    It's a good life!

That would have also been my suggestion. Good luck !

          Mark ,
Dont Be Fooled By The Lower Bushing Its Aways The Upper That Is The Problem From For Oil Leaking Onto It, Or Just Plain Old Rubber Dry Rotting.
