    Who bought Kelsey-Hayes?

The question is who bought K-H and did they end up as a division of company X, where 40 days & nights of praying might get my letter into the hands of someone who GAS? ANY info appreciated.

You'll remember Lucas as the "Prince of Darkness" from the days when the British built their own cars.

        Check this link.

LucasVarity Light Vehicle Brake Systems division acquired Kelsey Hayes as indicated above.

It looks like TRW Automotive bought the LucasVarity Light Vehicle Brake Systems division in 2002.

From that it looks like the Blackstone Group owns them now. I do not think that I would waste the energy to address the envelope Loren.

It looks like Blackstone Group is a holding company. I believe TRW Automotive is the name of the organization you are looking for.

I agree with Dick, don't waste the energy or the stamp.

Loren, why not send TRW an e-mail and see if you can find anyone with a sense of nostalgia/history? I would bet their corporate website has a contact information link and you can ask that your request gets to the correct person(s). You won't even be gambling the 42 cents of mailing! The worst that can happen is you get back nothing...best wishes.

I worked for Lucas for 11 years, and was present during the merger with Varity and Kelsey Hays in '96. At that time the wheel division was LONG GONE from Kelsey Hays. There is a story in a recent NCRS Bonding Strip about someone who followed the trail and spoke to original wheel division employees and where that part of the business ended up. I just recall reading it.

I recall reading a Triumph club newsletter 25 years ago that referred to Lucas as "The people who invented darkness".
