Primarily just the casting number on the head, and of course the assembly code on the pad. -

if you are asking if there are configuration differences between a 54 chevy 6 banger and a 54 GMC 6 banger, there are many.if you wish to compare a 54 vet 235 and a 54 chevy pass car 235, the mike ernest's response is appropriate. mikeComment
