    57 Radio delete plate

There seems to be some difference of opinions regarding what is correct for the radio delete plate. In the Forum, both Star Burst and Straight Line are mentioned and is it suppose to be stamped metal or cast??
I have a late build (August car) and don't know what to look for to be correct!

    Anyone know??

I would suggest a stamped "straight line" would likely be correct, but I'd also be inclined to check the TIM&JG to support my thoughts. Best, Dennis

i prefer the straight horizontal lined DIE-CAST block-off plate for Corvettes. our 57 Pass car fuelie, a radio delete car, had a STAMPED STEEL block off plate when i got it in the early 90's. I capitalized the important parts so the Dipstick's aging eyes would pick up on his mistake.mike

per Noland Adams Corvette Restoration & Technical Guide Vol 1 1953 thru 1962... page 139 shows the radio block off plate as a starburst for 1956 and early to mid year 1957..also see page 138...John

after reviewing Nolands block-off plate pictures and text, i wouldn't accept the photograph as a "shot at the factory"photo. For ncrs judging, i suspect the starburst would merit a small deduct. mike

Mikie - Guess I must have pictured the much superior 1962 stamped blockoff with the beautiful diecast Chevrolet script. Age can be hurtful, but my recent (yesterday) colonoscopy & prostate check was perfect...Thought you'd be anxious to know. Dip

Whoa, Guys, this is way more info than we need to hear, however, it is good to know that the "Dipstick" came out OK.

Hmmm, I guess one could deduce some ambiguity.
However, to digress, this is serious stuff, I cannot urge enough that these are absolute "Must Have!" tests for those of a certain age.
