    63 car jack

I just purchased a correct 63 car jack in original condition, but without the handle or tie-down spring.
What are the handles and springs from Paragon like ? Is the socket on the handle cast, like the original ?
Short of looking for an orig. handle and spring, I am considering buying them from Paragon.
does anybody know how they compare to the originals ?

The original handle for a 63 has no extra holes and the spring has one hook. If you can wait and you are going to Carlisle, look there. I found an original spring for $2.00 and a handle for $5.00. They both needed to be media blasted and painted and the hook zinc plated but they were original. For a driver, Paragon is fine.

Rainer, You might want to compare the riveting of an original versus the handle. The rivet for the swivel part of the handle. I believe it might be configured differently. John

        Rainer,

Google up some Corvair used part supply houses. Their jacks use the same handle. A couple of years back I called one and told the place to sell me the best two "no hole" handles he had. I kept the better of the two and sold the other on eBay. I got enough out of it to cover the cost of my original purchases.

You gotta love getting free stuff!

I found the correct jack hold down spring in the trunk of a Corvair in a wrecking yard.
