Keeping It Cool by Gary Chesnut

Gary - Just finished you're article on "Keeping It Cool." The timing for me is great. I should be putting the new interior in my '59 in the next two to three months. It appears from the article that HushMat is the way to go.
If you would, which model/version of HushMat did you use and where did you get it? Looking at Amazon.com they have kits starting with either a "SIL" or "PF" prefix. Thicknesses vary from 1/8" to 1/2". I didn't see anything in the .07 range. It also appears to come in mutiple sheets. How many sheet do you think it is going to take?

    Thanks - Sully

Sully, thanks for your comments. Really, thought the Koolmat would work best since all the high dollar NASCAR folks use it. Purchased Hushmat direct from manufacturer. Gary....

Prompted by Gary's fine article, I did some more research on this. If you go to Hush Mat's website, their Universal Installation Guide shows them installing their product in the passenger compartment of a 1958-1962 Corvette. Hush Mat informs me that they installed their product p/n PF400S in that Guide. 20 sheets. Amazon sells it for $224.96.

Thanks guys. That's the info I needed. The best part is Lenexa, KS is a suburb of Kansas City which is the home of my daughter. I think it may be time to take a road trip.

For anyone wanting to save a little money, Connie at Hushmat has informed me that Summit Racing carries their product under Summit's name. Part numbers SUM 879008, SUM879014, and SUM 879006 are all made by Hushmat and according to her will come in a Hushmat box.
