    C-1 Horn repair and parts

I will greatly appreciate any help and advice you folks can give me regarding a source of information regarding repair and restoration of Delco Remy Horns. I have several nice original 12 volt vintage 56-57 horns. I have a 1957 I plan on taking off the aftermarket horns and putting on period correct. Is there a source for parts for the horns, contacts, terminals, etc. Any technical information regarding resistance that should be present thru the magnet coils. Can you put a new "vibrator" in the horn to make it more reliable. I have an original Delco Remy manual coming which is suppose to provide information about which Delco model number was used in various models and makes of cars from 1953 to 1968. Thank you again for your input. JG

over the years i've attempted, unsuccessfully, to rebuild horns from my c-1 and c-2 vettes as well as late 20's/early 30's chevy horns. i gave up when i was only able to get one out of about a dozen to work. i now send them to ron goralski(he's in the member profile) for rebuilds. he does great work. mike

You can try Dennis Portka in NY. He advertises in the driveline and Hemmings. Nice work. Joe Perri in Chicago as mentioned before does very good work also.

Ron is the man. He sold me a correct shell and it sounds spot on parmp, parmp, toot, toot !!
He sent it to Australia never wanted money until I had it in my hands and I was happy with it.
The man is more than a gentleman. His work is awesome
