can anyone tell me where I can buy just the rod, plastic bushings and clips without buying the switch. I actualy have the rod as well.

Forget the GM parts department. The rod, GM #3954299, and the bushing, GM #3954290, were discontinued without supercession in January, 1993. The retainer, GM #148145, was discontinued in May, 1975 and replaced by GM #3458941 which was then discontinued without supercession in October, 1980.
