55 owners on the forum?
I'm just checking to see if there are any new 55 owners here. Roy, I'm following your example, and have now driven 850 miles on mine since I started driving it. I have to make sure it's not expected to rain, although I do keep a car cover in the trunk. I never drive with the top up. I have displayed it at several cars show, and won "Best of show" at a local show
Most of the people that see it don't know what it is, so I decided to make the display poster that is shown below. I love to drive the car.

A few weeks ago I might have sold you mine! Now it is running again and I can't wait to drive it more. Also, the cash expenses have slowed to make it more fun again...- Top

Bob Johnson
Lake Almanor, Ca.
I've been working on #006 since 1989. I picked it up from a friend of my brothers who took it completely apart in 1964 and left it that way....... I used to take the car out for rides when I was in high school back in 1961.
Anyway the car is almost done. One of these days I'll drive it down to Roy's and let him give it the once over to check my work.....- Top

Re: 55 Owners on Forum
There are 54 1955 cars listed on the c1 Registry site, and 6 more that I know about that aren't on the registry, for a total of 60 55's. Mike's #551 is not on the registry, and I know someone that has 5 cars that aren't listed. Does anyone know of anyone else know abount any cars that aren't accounted for.- Top

Re: 55 Owners on Forum
My name is Al Maiorano. I own #322. It was originally delivered to Cole Chevrolet in Port Jefferson, Long Island. (I have the dealer tag that was speed srewed to the trunk lid. Remember when they used to do that?) I was told I was the 3rd owner by the individual I purchased from in Rhode Island. The car had sat in his yard unprotected for 10 of the 15 years he owned the car. It was pretty bad when I got it. I have registration documents back to 1963. The registration owner was supposed to have been the 1st. I don't think so. I think there was an original owner who crashed the car in 1957-58. The frame was damaged and badly repaired. Remarkably, almost everything was there when I started disassembly and categorization. Subsequently, I've spent the past 3 1/2 years working on this car. Masterworks in Michigan did the body work and chassis resto. I've been putting it back together. Probably 90% there. It had the wrong steering column so I need to drop in the correct one. Exhaust, seats, convertible top, a little electrical and side molding are about all that's left.- Top

Re: 55 Owners on Forum
There are some 55's that I dont have in my data base of 45 vetts that have posted here ,and some numbers are just one or two off from what numbers I have . If any one is interested in e-mailing me I'll add your 55 to it . May be you be interested to meet a owner near your number to talk to. I e-mail people around the world about thier 55 to help locate original parts and give advice and I get advice and info. We all talk 55's because few people know much about them even NCRS. My e-mail is 55copper@oro.net- Top

Re: 55 Owners on Forum
I was just looking at this old thread of the 55 owners on the web site, and I thought there may be some new owners that that haven't posted on it. It was interesting reading the thread again, now that I can put some faces with thename. I been driving mine a lot during the past year, and the only problem that i have had was the voltage regulator going out agin. I searched the old post where I had asked about it, and the problem was solved - again.- Top
