    frame restration question

My name is Ryan. I am working on an 64 chassis restoration, and im in the process of painting my parts, I am trying to find out on the upper and lower control arms the cross shaft, bolts, and washer if they are painted with the contorl arms or are they natural unpainted? if you can help that would be great.

    thanks
    Ryan

Isn't that issue of detail discussed in the Judging Guide???

Ryan, Not sure if this is true for a 64 but for a 66-67 the control arms, shafts, bolts and washers are painted black. The control arms are gloss black and I'd have to check to see if the other components are the same gloss. Have fun with the car.

        Ryan:

Check the archives for the October 25, 2008 posting by Ernie Fry and the "black goo" discussion. This is an excellent discussion with a lot of good information that you will probably be interested in. While most of the thread covers the rear suspension, there is a lot of discussion on the front suspension and also some good pictures. It's well worth your time to check it out, especially with where you're at in your restoration.

The control arms were painted with those items in place; the ball joints were installed later. Do you have the '63-'64 Judging Guide?
