    C-3 Shifter Console Plating

How was the shiney, chrome-like, trim appllied to the shifter console on '77 and other C-3's? Is it easily duplicated for restoration (other than chrome tape)?

    Thanks!

    Steve

    Hi Steven,
The 'other C-3's' is easier for me. The trim was metal, chrome plated and then painted semi-gloss black using, I believe, a mask.
Your 77 console shifter plate looks to be plastic and I would think it's 'chrome was done in the same way other popular interior parts were done back then...metalizing.
Advanced Plating, in Nashville, has an ad in Hemmings which indicates they 'plate' plastic parts. 800-588-6686.
    Regards,
