    1970 LS-5 coupe on eBay

Look at this Corvette! Not for the faint hearted but looking at the engine it appears most components are intact less the shielding and plug wires.

    Thanks for posting.
Isn't that the paint color that was once thought to perhaps,... only showed up on one pilot line car in 1970? Seems like I remember some dispute regarding ontario orange paint, and whether or not, 1970 Corvettes were actually ordered, and built in this color.

Your are right Scott, not for the faint hearted. It appears to have the original type smooth chrome finish on the front cast grilles and could have the tabbed rocker panels. I would sure want to have the windshield trim removed to look at the windshield framing and examine the frame and remove the kick panels. Are you considering a trip to PA?

1970 was the last year for the true big block power, and is the most desirable year for the C3 era. If your looking

Love that quote , least you forgot about next years model the big honking LS-6 with its solid lifters was truly the last killer big block put in a factory C3

Even at first glance I would need more HEART/COURAGE, WALLET, and a place to hide it from my wife.
Looking at the front tire it appears as though it's been sitting on flat tires in some mud, for a day or two.

Look at it this way, you could probably get $400 bucks on fleabay for the air filter element alone. Maybe some good dated clamps in there too, Scott!

How did this our beloved Corvette ever get into this condition? I wouldn't even do this abuse to any car or truck, let alone "The American Icon" the Corvette!

The previous owner/owners should be forever banded from any Corvette Club or even a Collector Car Club.

You're right. It was not for the faint of heart. I should not have looked.

Corvette Bronze. A really pretty color.

Kenneth, you must know me! I was looking at all of the original stuff on that engine and other places. Yep....I wuz eyeballin' the clamps. Look at the positioning of the clamps. Looks like they were never changed from the factory. Besides the air element look at the dipstick, radiator cap, fan blade, fan shroud, etc. I even wondered if the alternator was a 1100884 and the coil a 287 B-R.

Would that Corvette qualify as a survivor? Or a......?

Lyndon, there's a guy here in the Fort Worth area who claims to have a 1971 LS-6 coupe. He wants me to come by and look at his Corvette collection next week. Is there anything unique about LS-6s that verifies them to be real ones?

Jim, I know of three Corvette people in Pennsylvania and you may know two of them. Gale Gee and Eddie Wassavage. Wonder if I could get them to look at the car?

It strikes me that the assembly code on the block is rather interesting--it looks like it was hit with the same jig that was used for stamping differentials. I'm not that familiar with 70's--is that typical of factory production?

                      No.
I noted that as well. The Tonawanda stamp looks like a differential stamp with regard to size and font.

I thought that engine pad number stamping looked odd and incomplete, too. The VIN of the Corvette is 194370S411989 and has a build date of June 11. It was first spotted on eBay in May 2008.

This car is totally original. We bought the car in Columbia Tenneseee where the car SAT since 1977. The car was parked in a field in 1977 and we pulled it out of a forrest in 2008!

The car was owned by a car dealer who had about 50 cars in the field. One Trans Am still had the window sticker and less than 2K miles. The dealer bought the cars from individuals or loaned money against the cars.

We bought the car in April of 2008 and sold the car. It looks great compared to what it looked like when we got the car.

Very original car that is actually in pretty good shape consider the storage conditions for over 30 years!!!!

It's refreshing to hear comments from the owners of these Corvettes. Thanks.
