    The same individual has a "65 L79" engine for sale with similar looking stamp.

        I feel the letters are narrower, and the "C" is not properly shaped. I'm also curious if the letters a stamped too deep. Attached is a broadcast code for the CTU block for my '70 LT-1 car.

            Have measurements ever been done to determine the depth of a typical factory stamping, and then perhaps to use this to help evaluate a questionable stamping?

                    Hi Robert,
                    I'd think the depth of character would vary from car to car since it was a person not a machine making the strike.
                    Nice idea though!
