    71 rear spring 3 questions

    1) I have a "mostly" original car that I am doing a body off. The spring liners are black and look to be original ...is this possible? (not grey)
    2) If they have been changed...springs or liners, is there a way of telling if the springs are original mainly GM? Are they marked?
    3) If the springs are not cracked and the ride height is correct should I replace or re-arch them?

As always thanks for your inputs!

    1. Yes. Liners are black, spring is painted gray.
    2. Configuration of the leaves is noticeably different between originals ane replacements. Originals have more "ducktail curve" at the ends.
    3. Absolutely not. Buy a spring restoration kit from Quanta and you'll have new liners, new thru-bolt and original styple gray paint.

      Hi Pete,
I used the liners from Quanta.
I ended up t******* them in length to match my originals, so check when you receive the new liners.
I ended up being able to buy 1 more long liner at Carlisle which allowed me to move each liner 'up' one position and make the matching cut to the original.
      Regards,
      Alan

      That word is 't*******', I don't know why I can't edit it.
Don't know what's going on, I think you can undertand I cut each one to fit.

        Alan -

        The board software that runs the censoring robot doesn't like the word "r i m m i n g".

The word (or part of a word) that the computer censor doesn't like has a sexual connotation, and that is all I can say about it publicly. If we are to have Sex Ed 101, or maybe that should be 210, or some other number, we will have to do it in private.

Or is it that you don't get why he is congratulating John Hinkley? John will be inducted into the Corvette Hall of Fame at The National Corvette Museum during the Labor Day celebration at the Museum.

I guess I'm proof that Alan isn't the only one that is "innocent". Thanks for the education, Terry.
