C3 350 Oil Squirts from timing chain cover!

There is unusual pressure at high RPM, and a high vol. oil pump. Oil leaks out in front, right in the middle of the the oil pan to timing cover seal...

My friend is on his third seal and attempted three diff. pans. He has exchanged timing covers also. Using one pc. gaskets for the pan...

    Thanks!

If your car is not flight judged, you can also get a one piece oil pan gasket from Felpro. You may need to loosen the pan to reinstall the timing chain gasket thus replacing the oil pan gasket at this same time may save you chasing an oil pan leak later.

Just a shot in the dark but, if you recently replaced the oil pan you should be aware there are two different radii for the front of the pan where it meets the timing cover. One has to install the proper oil pan gasket to fill the opening.

This was the problem I had with my 70. The leak always gathered and dripped near the front of the oil pan, at the middle of the timing seal, but each time I resealed the pan it continued to leak there. Turns out it was the balancer seal, and the air from the fan was causing the oil to travel to this position.
