'64 Interior Saddle Tan Paint Color code?

I am wanting to paint my '64 Saddle Tan interior parts (i.e. Center Console)

Anyone know the paint number, and or manufacturer(s) that I could use and still be close to original color?

    Thanks,
    David

Hi David, on my saddle/saddle 64 I used the codes in Noland's book for Dupont paint. Not sure if the tints are still available now, best thing to do is take any original part to a paint shop and have them computor match it. The radio side panels might be a good candidate. Good luck!

Drove the 64 over 5000 miles to three Regionals and the San Jose National, one dust storm and 40 lbs of bugs!

David, I bought the saddle tan spray from LIC and it matched fine. No comments made during Flight Judging. Easy way to do it.

OK thanks....I'll get some from LIC. I was just looking to see if a Krylon (for example) was available where I could pick some up locally.

Hurry up and get that beauty running so we can have a reunion of sorts. Lots of 64 owners around here.

          Cheers,
          Craig

I just looked at the spray cans I used to fix up my saddle 63 interior. They are from paragon, its' a saddle dye. I did get a can of saddle lacquer from Tower Paints (google them). They mixed the paint and put it in a rattle spray can for the interior metal trim of my hardtop.

David, I used the LIC product (spray dye on sandless primer) on my 64 as well and it worked fine. My radio panels were rough. The Tower paint rattle can product is a good choice also. They mixed up some Trophy Blue lacquer for my 66 that was excellent.

Question? Know the 67 tan color is different for sections of the interior. Was the tan a consistent shade throughout the interior for the 64 MY?

Not according to Chev Service News, Sept 1963 (for the new '64 models). for 1964 Corvettes, there are two interior refinish paint codes, both called Medium Saddle. The 60 gloss is (using Dupont codes for example) 9015-L; the 3 gloss is 4461-L). The lists of what-goes-where for the different interior parts been posted before.

Wayne, I'm old, tired and am having little to no luck with searches of this calibre. Do you simply know which one would be correct for early '64 (Nov of '63) center console, or have that link to reference you mention above.
                      Thanks in Advance,
                      David

To get the whole story for the low gloss and high gloss lists you have to read post # 2 and 6 of this thread. So far, the "what-goes-where" source is from one paint manufacturer for the 1965 year, so I can't guarantee it applies to 1964, although the two Dupont codes I specified earlier are for 1964 Corvettes.

Nowhere does the list specify precisely the center console (ie. the shifter plate) although I think it should be the low gloss called for the radio speaker panel. Can get you the other two interior '64 paint suppliers; one can be used for low gloss and the other supplier for high gloss. Only Dupont had codes that covered both.

Adding on...the autocolorlibrary.com website gives 'page two' information for certain year cars. This is available for '63, 64, and 65 (among others). This recites what blend codes were used + where on interior parts.

In '63-64, the specs for Corvette are broken into three categories: flat, low and full gloss. BUT, for '65 the spec sheet is more detailed and calls out 'low' gloss to be 3-degrees! This is the category the center console falls in.

Knowing what gloss factor to target, a professional painter can hit the job on target!
