C-1 Fuel Injection Core Support Extension?

Can anyone tell me if there was a screen originally installed on the drivers side fuel injection core support extension? I thought if the heater side had one then so should the FI air cleaner intake side, am I wrong?

Justin - I appreciate the quick response, sure glad I didn't self-tap those (3) screen/block-off plate mounting holes.........I was ready to do just that, instead posted this question.....woo, another save, can't thank you enough.
The question originally came in play after reviewing an ebay auction 'tonight' displaying a FI core support extension with no self-tap holes....of course the rest is history. Was that a coincidence or what?....

Bill, It's a good thing you didn't use self tapping screws in the holes as 58 to 61 low HP FI cars had a block off plate over that hole. No hose running from the air cleaner to the core support.
One way to tell if a real deal FI car(whatever that is) in the 58 to 61 time frame was a low HP car is to look to see if those holes show signs of being tapped. The LHP cars used a sheet metal block off plate over the hole.
I never did quite figure out why the engineers decided to eliminate the cheap hose though.
Lately I have had a lot of calls from guys restoring low HP fuel cars. I don't know where they are all coming from. You didn't ask a lot of he above though. Sorry for rambling. John

Instant elimination of the judge supposedly inserting his head far enough to see if the holes have been tapped - drill bit 1/32" larger run through each hole - IT'S ORIGINAL!!!!!!

The drill bit trick is a lot cheaper than the alternative:

Loren - This is precisely the ebay auction that I was referencing to, can be costly to replace, but then all FI parts are through the roof.

My application is 283cid/315hp, I didn't specify which hp rating of fuel injection I had because my intent was to ask a general question knowingly that related topics would surface helping others. In this case I was well informed on the differences between the two applications.

Thats what why these threads are a blast to read. You always learn more then what you originally asked for..... oh, and please ramble on John, I love this stuff....

The 1957 RPO 684 did have a screen.
