C2 Transmission

I'm currently assembing a transmission for my SWC with a close ratio setup (3831701) existing of the needed 3831704 case, 3831731 tail en 3831707 lid. I'm still missing the cast iron front piece which fits into the bellhousing. What number should this part be?

The front bearing retainer you need is iron, casting #604932; another one-year-only part, to match up with the small-diameter hole in the 421 bellhousing.

Rob, Early 63 cars had the aluminum version of this part but the 604932 bearing retainer is made from steel. I purchased two on ebay years ago and they do pop up now and again. As john says, another 63 part because of the small diameter bellhousing hole. 1962 and earlier cars had a larger retainer and hole and 64-up had the larger hole. Go figure...
