I wanted to share you all my experience with a chrome shop. I had them do majority of my chrome on my 62.
Door posts - Pitted
Window posts - Pitted
lower channel - stainless steel buffing
upper channel - stainless steel buffing
rear license surrounding
rear latches
rear/front bumpers
reveal moldings - stainless steel buffing
Upper and lower grill mouldings - NOS some minor scratches.
Winshield wiper bezels.
rear decklid latches.
I traded all of my extra parts for the work. Every exact part I wanted to use on my car was given back to me. Most of the parts I asked them to use were either 62 specific or fitted during the glass work. They had the parts ready when I needed them. All of the pits where the surfaces were shown were removed. I saw no major scratches or flaws in the chrome work. The owner communicated well about when the parts were going to be ready. As far as I am concerned nothing has to be redone. When they came over to pick up the parts I had left the inner channel in the upper windshield bar. He gave me the inner channel bar which was cleaned up for me and plated. Now, I explained to him my car was not going to be a show car so I did not expect show chrome. I think it could pass as very close to show quality. I do not know what show chrome should look like though I can see they produce quality work.
I just thought I would pass along my experience. I know they advertise core exchanges on Ebay.
