Re: 67 exterior emblems
Hi Chris
Always opt to retain the original anything if at all possible.
Actually the pins were not threaded, apparently just worn.
A couple of options.
Speed nuts collapse inward from over use or tightening.
Sometimes pressing the center outward to its original convex position will solve the problem.
Try new spead nuts in the existing grooves.
And/or start a new groove.
Good Luck!

Re: 67 exterior emblems
Chris,
Agree on keeping original.
You mentioned that the flags are Orange-Red Might want to hear from other 67 owners first to verify that.
Reason I mention is that the 63/64 side flags are orange-red while the later flags (& NOS) are more of a burgundy red. Not sure if the front flags were left the orange-red while the side flags were changed to burgundy red. (not sure of year of change either)- Top

Re: 67 exterior emblems
Oh, make no mistake, I will NOT be throwing away the original emblems. The question is really about what to put on the car for judging more than anything else.
Here are some close up shots of what I have. Pardon the wax. Also note that the driver's side shaft on the nose emblem is much shorter than the passenger's side shaft.

Re: 67 exterior emblems
John, I swear it was there. I just checked the link again and it is gone. Not sure.
It was next to the red/orange nose emblem......dunno.Chris Enstrom

Re: 67 exterior emblems
I would say that "someone" at TrimParts, got a phone call, and thought twice about referring to a reproduction part as "NCRS color approved", which is my rememberance of how they worded it.
Glad you brought it to other's attention. Thanks,... Ridge.Good carburetion is fuelish hot air . . .- Top

They finally got the color right???Chris, you're right. I saw it also, by clicking the link you provided, shortly after you started this thread.
