early 56 underhood blackout paint

Hi all,
My question today is on the shade of underhood etc. blackout paint. The blackout on my car #10 had a dull greenish cast to it. We had the paint color matched top use for blackout on the car. Is this going to be a problem from a judging viewpoint. I see a lot of blackout being more of a satin black. Please reply with viewpoints on this before we get to a point of no return. Thanks Mike

Michael, Judges expect to see a low semi-gloss blackout paint. Gary....

Hi Gary,

Thanks for another piece of advise. I guess that is what I have always pretty much understood from looking at several restored cars. The only thing that bothers me is that the paint underhood on this car has never been sprayed over. It is definately different than what I see as restoration accepted shade. It has a slight olive drab cast to it although still semi gloss. Could it have been another situation involving and early car. If you remember the differential paint that I posted sometime back from this car. I thought it would be proper to go back the way the car was actually built. Maybe I should not to avoid controversy. Quite a dilema.
