Re: Anybody Ever Saw a Perfectly Overrestored Vette?
Unless you have a time machine the debate will go on. I have two examples to share. I resored my 61 over 20 years ago, still have the same paint job on the car. It was blocked to perfection, then painted with red Lacquer. It was perfect. Several years later and today it looks like a NCRS paint job, waives. It seams the paint and prep products shrink and move with time. My 66 chevelle was also giving a similar paint job, not with lacquer and while many years later you can see some light ripples, it is much smoother. So many of those new corvette were most likely straiter than we want to believe. No one can go back in time, no one has a good memory of what the majority of corvettes looked like on their birthday, no one can duplicate the process and pictures are not always acurate, you'll never really know. Maybe check out the old route 66 CD's.
