    Adjusting Holley Float Level

When I Turn The Adusting Float Locking Nut Clockwise To Lower The Float In The Carburetor, Does That Raise The Gas Level Or Does That Lower The Gas Level From The Sight Hole? Thanks Dutch 650 Cfm Holley

Harry, it lowers the level at the sight hole. You want to turn CCW till you JUST get a SLIGHT bit if gas at the hole. Level ground, engine warmed.

it will force gas out of the sight hole because you are forcing the float down into the gasoline and raise the liquid level temporarly. after turning the adjustment nut to lower the floats open the throttle with the engine running so the fuel level will drop as the excess gasoline is moved out of the discharge nozzles. anytime you lower the float level do it with the sight plugs in place, rev the engine to help remove fuel from the float bowls. this must also be done with the secondary side and this will require you to take a ride and go wide open throttle to get the excess fuel out of the float bowl. then remove the sight plugs to check the level. you can raise the floats if the level is too low with the sight plugs out because at that time the fuel level will be below the sight holes so no gas will come out out of the sight plug holes. if you think the float level is too high turn the adjustment nuts at least 1/2 a turn with the engine off and then road test as above before you check the fuel level.
