    1972 radiator support a/c

Does anyone know the dimensions or better yet have a picture and dimensions for the radiator core support for a 72 car with ac?

I assume the ac support and the non-ac support were different because of the different radiators. I am happy to be wrong about this.

    Thank you,

    Re: 1972 radiator support a/c

There are two core supports for 69-72 SB and another one for BB.

The base car, with no options, (no air, no automatic, and no option engine) used an aluminum radiator with a separate surge tank. This core support uses two 1/2" pins for mounting the radiator.

If the car received anyone of these options, then the radiator changed to the 26" copper/brass unit and no surge tank. The core support used four U-shaped mounting brackets on the corners of the radiator.

If the car was a BB, then the radiator changed to a 27.5" copper/brass radiator with a separate aluminum surge tank. If the BB had AC, then the surge tank was a long brass tank. The core support was almost identical to the SB 26" unit, with only the bottom right U mount location was moved out 1.5".
