Did hurst shifter make the shifters for the C1 cars or were they in house G.M. manufactured ? Stewy

GM made them. The Hurst shifters were a popular conversion for many years used by racers and the street crowd as they offered shorter and more positive throws.

I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the shifters were made for GM by Ansen.

I believe GM's Inland Division made them for midyears, not sure who made them for C1's. Neal Porter makes the reproduction C1 shifters.

Are the repos any good. Or should I buy a NOS. Are there any numbers on the old ones.

I am confused. I thought the Hurst Co. made Hurst shifters. The first Hurst shifter I bought was from "Honest Charlie" in late 1960 for my new 61 3sp OD Ford. Who did Linda Vaughn work for? Dale
