    Cross Reference for AC Delco -GM

    Is there a website or parts book available that provides the cross reference for AC Delco Part #'s to GM Part #'s? Thanks in advance to all for your help?

      The AC website IS pretty handy but it's not all-inclusive... I've been trying for a year or so to find the original application for these NOS AC fuel filters I picked up at a swap meet without sucess.

      All of the sources I've tried (AC, GM, older GM P&A Catalogs, older AC/Delco Popular Parts catalogs & third party filter mfgr cross-reference tables), come up dry. Apparently this part is 'fiction'...

      I'm talking about an AC GF-155 fuel filter element, PN 854564 that looks very similar to the GF-149 filter element that was used on Chevy 348/409 engines except the center hole is MUCH larger than the GF-149...

      The part looks like this. Anyone with access to older, printed, AC/Delco catalogs who can get a 'hit', I'd appreciate being dropped a direct email!

          I'm not sure about the advice here, Neil. That source returnes 'No Parts Found' for either the GF155 or 854564 designations when you specify the mfgr as AC/Delco...

            Whatever the application is, it's a very old application. For one thing, the packaging here indicates "1950's or earlier". It's so old that no references I have go back that far and I've got some pretty old references, some that go back to the 30's. I can say this about it:

            1) I don't think it's for any Chevrolet passenger car or light truck application;

            2) It may be for a VERY old "other GM", non-GM, or GM MD/HD truck;

            3) Another possibility is a filter element for a non-PRODUCTION fuel filter.

            By "non-GM" I am referring to other automobile manufacturers or, even, non automotive uses like farm or construction equipment. One must keep in mind that AC once manufactured filters for a wide array of non GM applications. For example, a GF-157 was used for 1950's Chrysler Corporation products.

              Yeah, Joe... I was SHOCKED when you couldn't find the part in the source data info you have!!!

              Could well be for a non-GM application, farm/construction machinery or even an aircraft application... It eats at me that trying various sources of inquiry wind up in complete dead ends.

              I figure there's somebody out there who'd like to have some of these puppy dogs as NOS parts from that early era are HARD to come by. But, until I can nail jelly to the tree (what in +*&^ does it fit?), they sit gathering dust in my basement...
