Greg - my car does not have power windows, and to the best of my knowledge never had them. I assume this wire is hot when the ignition is turned on, so I'll take care in properly terminating the end.

Where does that wire terminate on the other end? It doesn't look like something that the General would have originally put into your car since it isn't part of any wiring harness from what I can tell from your pictures. My car (also a 69 BB W/air) doesn't have one running behind the dash but did have one running from the fuse block to the starter which was someones "fix" for, what I can only assume was an intermittent problem due to a corroded bulkhead connector.

Jay - not sure, but I think I should dig a little deeper and find out.

Looking at mine I saw at least 4 possibilities.

                1) Headlight switch

                2) Turn signal on steering column outer switch

                3) Windshield Wiper door override switch

                4) Rear window defroster control switch
Jim - if you can post some pics that would be great. I think it will help me unravel this mystery.

                Thanks,

                Pat

That kind of connection that plugs into the fuse block and has a connector to plug something else into the same source, is a factory made piece. Those are how accessories plug into the fuse block.

Does your car have an accessory that requires power only when the key is on? Rear window defroster is one thing that comes to mind. Power windows is another, but that has already been ruled out you said.

Terry - no rear window defroster, and I think that's it for the factory power options. The only other key power option I can think of is an after-market radio. There were upgraded speakers in the car when I purchased it.
