    1960 Removal of seat frame

It's bubba here !! I have removed the seat cushions from my seat frame. Now the tricky bit there are three bolts on the front to remove the frame to floor that's easy. Where are the rear bolts I think I have found one but I'm not a contortionist. What is the process in removing the seat frame. Does the frame come off the rails first or can I take the whole frame out at once. I can't figure how to get the rear bolts out. What is the process ? Stewy

Slide the frame ahead and you will see the bolts at the back.

Pierre I hammered the seat frame as forward as it will go and still no bolts. Maybe the seat is jammed and wont go far enough forward. Have you removed a 58 -60 seat frame before. How exposed should the bolts be.

He's corect - lift the adjustment lever and the outboard side should move forward; as I remember, the inboard side is not controlled by the adjustment lever, it just moves.
If nothing happens, go find the best rust penetrator and start soaking. After oiling, a couple of swacks with a plastic headed hammer will aid the
        the process.

Thanks Pierre and Loren just kind of over forced it with a steel hammer and timber block and it started to move again. Then bingo the bolts were there, the frame is out. I owe you both a tinnie of Vic Bitter. or a big kiss

Stewart, I had to do this several times on different C1's. I used a short peice of 2X4, about 10 or 12" long along one of the cross peice of the seat frame and used a hammer on the 2X4 to move the frame ahead. Eventually it moved and cleared the bolts at the back

            Good luck
