Frame support difference between a coupe and convertible

Hello,

Can someone tell me the difference in frame support between a
coupe and convertible? There is a poster on the Corvette Forum who
wants to take a late C3 and convert it from a coupe to a convertible.

I was concerned with his undertaking and wanted to get your input.

No difference.

It's a "relatively" easy conversion, and can actually be done with all GM parts. Of course, that's tougher now because you have to find them used and essentially "graft on" a different year rear end. But, it can be done.

These conversions show up in the "general" Corvette magazines on a not-infrequent basis.

PS. I'm not concerned with the undertaking of anyone at CF. I find that by not going there I can avoid most of the "C-3 Bubbas" that frequent it.

I can understand your stand here.
However, I on the other hand, not so much a Bubba,
except when it comes to removing the original blue dye from
my original RWL Wide Track Oval spare tire.

As an NCRS member,
I have learned a great deal from the "correct" folks here and find it
in my heart to try and do the right thing by offering support to others,
regardless where they choose to hang their hat.
