    One reason he didn't do the swap may be because he has just as many ponies under the hood for about $40k less. Nice car!

      I'd agree.

      Ryan and I think we need to see more pictures.

          As far as tuners go on the newer cars Lingenfelter is perhaps the most respected. A friend of mine had them work their magic on a base 400 hp 2005 and it puts over 500 hp to the rear wheels, naturally aspirated and still gets 27 mpg on the highway. Alot less money than going the ZR1 route. ZR1 owners will argue that it is the whole package you are buying, but they are pricey.

            The best I can remember, he bought the left-over '08 Z06 for $65K, with the second highest level option package.

            I am pretty certain that he has under $12K in all modifications, including those outrageously expensive long tube headers.
            So, for around $77K to at top, $80K, has this horsepower, naturally aspirated.
            A few years ago, I was lucky enough to get a few laps driving a retired Nextel Cup car, set up for mile and a half, banked tracks (at the Vegas Track). This Z06 has as much "gas" as that car had. It hits 175mph quickly, with throttle to spare.
            The last pic in this set, shows the "Billy Boat" exhaust package going on the car. Every single part removed from this Z06, to be replaced, is carefully tagged, boxed, and put into storage, to pass on to future owners.

                Ridge,

                Thanks for the pictures and description of the modifications. Recently I too bought a 2008 Z06 with the 2LZ package and 601 miles on the clock for $55k. I'm looking at going down the same road as Ryan did with Lingenfelter. I'd like to get his input on any dislikes or things he might have done differently after he's driven the car a few months.

                Now for the NCRS related portion of this message. I plan to keep all the factory parts etc for the car and would like to get involved in the writing of the judging guide for these cars in the future. Is anyone in the NCRS currently working on getting information (pictures) of these cars in their stock configuration for future use?

                I'd like to quote what famed Corvette racer and enthusiast Mr. Dick Gulstrand said at a seminar he put on at the 2005 NCRS National Convention;

                "What do true Corvette guys do when they get a new Corvette?"

                I know Dennis Clarke know this answer! How about anyone else?

                Best Regards,
