Best Place to Buy a Restored Carb

Looking for recommendations as to where is the best place to buy fully restored, fully functional and fully guaranteed carburetors in the US.

    Thanks,
    Craig

I've been very happy with the carb I purchased from these folks.

I second Gerards comment. I had them rebuild a "driver" Quadrajet for my 1970 LS5, and right out of the box, it ran perfect; very little adjustment. I also sent them a date coded 7040205 to "show car" restore, and the thing looks fantastic. I think the guy there is named Phil. He's very helpful.

I just ordered a restored carb from them Phil and his dad are extremely knowledgeable. A pleasure to deal with. I have not recieved my carb yet but they were recommended by NJ NCRS members.

I had Phil restore two for me, and one of them had issues.

          Two things bothered me:
          1. I had asked that all my original parts be used, and if for some reason they could not that they return to me anything removed. Needless to say they replaced all my Q-jet's screws with generic replacements, replaced a few other parts, and returned nothing. I could not get Phil to return my calls afterward.
          2. The carb did not run completely correct afterward so I looked inside, and some of the parts they used were lower quality generic pieces which I then replaced. Again, I could not get Phil to call me or e-mail me back and answer my inquiries.

Thankfully I know enough about Q-jets that I fixed the issues, but I don't think I should be putting time and money into a "restored" carb.

The best carbs I've ever had done were from Jerry Luck, but I did not want to wait for him on these two.

As another source I would recommend Dick Katter in Manassas, VA. He did a very good job restoring my carb and was very easy to work with. You might give him a call and see if he has what you need or if he can get it 703-754-7547
