    The small hole is for the screw that holds the rubber bumper in that area--passenger car didn't have the rubber bumper.
    I've not seen the 1/8 shim--but seen more than my share of the 1/16--occasionally stacked!

        The old story--use one and adapt it for the other---like the wrong (but usable) hood pull that GM sold for 30 years for the solid axle cars--and like the 67 grille that they sell to fit 63-67, etc.
