C2 front header bar

It's looking like I will be replacing the front header bar on my '64. The damage done to it is just enough to go either way - repair or replace. Replacement would be more the 'right thing to do'.

The information I have is that these front header bars are sourced from one manufacturer. The limited market for these things would seem to suggest that, also. I would like to double check on this. Is this true? ..

The header bar and attendant fiberglass bonding strip can be had as a complete riveted together unit. That's what I'm planning to purchase. Are the header bar/fiberglass bonding strip assemblies riveted together when manufactured?. Do the vendors do this on their end when front header bar assembly parts are received? . . So far I see that Sermersheim's and LIC's offer the completed header bar assembly.

It wouldn't seem so but should the color of the fiberglass bonding strip matter? .. Looks to be pretty well 'hidden', otherwise. .. Thanks for any comments.

I don't try to keep up with the repops.
I would suggest that you locate an original, with the FG already bonded.
'63-'66 stamped holes for access to the mpounting suds of the front emblem have rounded edges.
'67 changed, the holes are closer together, larger & have a flat (flush) edge and then became the S/R's.
Yes, Exterior Judges look for this configuration to be proper.
