An owner inspired capicator. Someone may have been having audio noise issues.

      Pat:
It is a radio capacitor. Look on page U69, A3, View A. It is part #8 and 13. The capacitor is part #3961556.

Jeff - I can see where it was cut right at the connectors. Too much has been cut off to attempt a tie in. I guess I could break that connector and tie a new one in with the capacitor wires, but what's the downside of leaving it as is?

        Thanks,

        Pat

            Pat:
Radio capacitors were used on radio equipped cars to suppress noise created by other electrical devices like signal flashers, spark from ignition, noise from motors, etc. The only downside is that you may hear more crackling or static from your radio if you don't have them. My guess is that with the top down, the exhaust sound and wind will drown out the radio anyway.

Jeff - you could not be more right, with the top down and side exhaust I can't hear a damn thing. Well, that's not true, I hear the sound of a BB motor.

              Thanks,

              Pat

Terry - what does the bracket mount to? If I was to hazzard a guess, I'd say the back of the speedo.

Sorry Pat, I am not sure what bracket you are asking about.

                    Pat:
It looks like from the AIM that the capacitor you had pictured appears to mount to the birdcage behind the passenger speaker (or somewhere close in that area).
