    C-1 How to polarize generator

Put the battery in my '61 tonight and was amazed that so many things worked right!! I've put a new voltage regulator on it so I know I need to polarize the generator but can't remember how. Someone said the procedure is in the ST 12 but I can't find it. Can someone tell me where to find the procedure or how to do it?
    Thanks

I just briefly touch a screw driver across the bottom two terminals as you are looking down at it mounted on the fenderwell. The three terminals are on your left as you are looking down over the fender. Use a small screwdriver and it will spark as you do it. Just touch "briefly" and you are all set. We always did it this way in the 60's.

To polarize the generator you touch the battery terminal of the generator to the field terminal of the generator. To polarize the voltage regulator you touch the bottom two terminals.

Does the engine need to be running when you do this? C
